House Jones: Outdoor entertainment area

When you get asked to design and renovate a chef’s kitchen, the nerves and excitement are overwhelming!! We knew this had to be a showstopper. It’s always great when we get to renovate a whole apartment, and it was so incredible to be able to change absolutely everything from floorboards, to windows and light fittings.

We went with a warm wood look vinyl and grey colour palette for continuity through the house. We replaced all windows to black Aluminium frame, with Double glazing throughout for a modern look and opened up the doorways with black stack back doors to create a true indoor/outdoor entertainment space. The kitchen is a mix of Matt black and wood with brass finishes for a modern sleek look.

The bathroom brief was for it to look like we had thrown concrete over everything, and this we did, from concrete tiles, to concrete counter tops and again brass finishes for continuity with the entire home. And then the bedroom… our favorite one yet!!

In the Bedroom, a wallpaper which makes you stare for ages, incorporating the feminine floral with the masculine stone for a true balanced environment, with a colour palette of greys, blushes and terra-cotta’s! The cupboards & skirtings were painted in the same grey as the walls in order to create calm and again touches of brass finishes to finish off the room. The outside entertainment area was finished off with Astro turf with its being conscious of our Cape Town water issues.
